- 3 overripe bananas (about 1½ cups mashed)
- ½ cup peanut butter (or any nut/seed butter)
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- (Optional) 3 tbsp maple syrup (for added sweetness)
- (Optional) ¼ cup chocolate chips (for topping or mixing in)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×4-inch loaf pan with parchment paper and lightly grease.
- In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
- Add peanut butter, cocoa powder, and optional maple syrup. Mix until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips on top if desired.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until just set in the center.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing into squares. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for natural sweetness and a smooth, fudgy texture.
- Don’t overbake brownies will continue to firm up as they cool.
- Swap peanut butter for almond or sunflower seed butter to make nut-free.
