Description

Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan French Fries are crispy, golden, and packed with savory garlic-Parmesan flavor. Made in the air fryer with minimal oil, they’re a healthier take on the classic deep-fried version. Perfect for snacks, side dishes, or game-day gatherings, these fries deliver restaurant-quality taste with a fraction of the effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon parsley

Optional Add-ins:
Red pepper flakes
Smoked paprika
Truffle oil

Dietary Substitutions:
Plant-based Parmesan
Dairy-free butter
Gluten-free seasonings

Instructions

  1. Rinse and scrub potatoes under cold water, then cut into ¼-inch strips.
  2. Place potato strips in a large bowl, cover with ice water, and soak for 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Drain and pat the potatoes completely dry with paper towels.
  4. Toss potatoes with olive oil and salt until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  6. Arrange potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket (work in batches if needed).
  7. Cook for 18–20 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  8. In a small bowl, mix Parmesan, garlic powder, and parsley.
  9. Toss hot fries with the seasoning mixture immediately after air frying.
  10. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Soak potatoes before cooking to remove starch for extra crispiness.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow proper airflow.
  • Use finely grated Parmesan for the best coating.
  • Make it vegan by using nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days and reheat at 350°F for 3–5 minutes.
