Description

These caramel apple pie bombs are a fall-inspired, bite-sized dessert that combines warm, spiced apples, gooey caramel, and flaky crescent dough. Perfect for any occasion, they’re easy to make and full of irresistible flavor!

Ingredients

  • For the Pastry Shell:
    • Crescent roll dough (1 can)
  • For the Filling:
    • Apples (2 medium, peeled and diced) – Granny Smith preferred
    • Ground cinnamon (1½ teaspoons)
    • Granulated sugar (2 tablespoons)
    • Flour (1 teaspoon)
    • Caramel candies (10-12 pieces)
  • For Assembly:
    • Brown sugar (2 tablespoons)
    • Cinnamon sugar mix (1 tablespoon cinnamon + 2 tablespoons sugar)
    • Melted butter (3 tablespoons)
  • Optional: Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Prepare the Apple Filling:
    • In a medium saucepan, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add the diced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Cook for 5-7 minutes until apples are tender and mixture thickens.
    • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  3. Prepare the Crescent Dough:
    • Separate the crescent roll dough into triangles. If using biscuit dough, flatten into discs.
    • Lightly flour your hands or a rolling pin and stretch each piece slightly.
  4. Assemble the Bombs:
    • Place a spoonful of the apple mixture onto each crescent dough section. Top with one caramel candy.
    • Fold the dough around the filling and pinch edges to seal. Shape into a ball.
  5. Coat and Arrange:
    • Roll each bomb in melted butter, then coat with cinnamon sugar.
    • Arrange the bombs on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake to Perfection:
    • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
  7. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Plate the warm bombs and serve immediately. Optional: Add vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an indulgent touch.

Notes

  • Seal the Dough Tight: Make sure the dough is fully sealed to prevent caramel from leaking.
  • Chill the Filling: Allow the apple filling to cool slightly before assembling to avoid breaking the dough.
  • Reheating Tip: Microwave leftovers for 10-15 seconds to revive the gooey caramel center.
