Description

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Stir in olive oil, salt, and 2 cups flour. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead on a floured surface for 5–7 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking sheet.
  5. Punch down dough, roll into a rectangle, and sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top.
  6. Roll tightly into a log, pinch seams, and shape into a loaf.
  7. Place loaf on prepared baking sheet, brush with olive oil.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  9. Cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
