Description

Chocolate covered pretzels are a delightful combination of crunchy pretzels coated in rich, melted chocolate, offering a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors. Perfect for parties, gifts, or as a homemade snack. Easily made gluten-free, dairy-free, or lower-sugar.

Ingredients

For the Pretzels:

– 72 pretzel twists (substitute gluten-free pretzels if needed)

– 6 oz semisweet chocolate disks (substitute sugar-free or dairy-free chocolate if preferred)

– ½ tsp flaky sea salt (or substitute kosher salt or coarse sea salt)

For Optional Toppings:

– Sprinkles

– Crushed nuts

– Drizzled white chocolate

– Caramel drizzle

Instructions

  1. Melt semisweet chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between each interval until smooth.
  2. Dip each pretzel into the melted chocolate, scraping off excess chocolate from the bottom.
  3. Place the dipped pretzels onto parchment paper to harden.Chocolate Covered Pretzels
  4. Transfer remaining chocolate into a piping bag and drizzle over the pretzels.
  5. Sprinkle flaky sea salt or other toppings evenly over the chocolate.
  6. Refrigerate the pretzels for at least 15 minutes to allow the chocolate to fully set.
  7. Once hardened, serve immediately or store in an airtight container for later enjoyment.Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Notes

– Use high-quality chocolate: This ensures maximum richness and flavor. Add a teaspoon of coconut oil if the chocolate feels too thick.

– Storage: Store pretzels in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Freeze portions for longer storage; thaw at room temperature before serving. Avoid humid environments to prevent chocolate bloom.

– Customizations: Add sprinkles, crushed nuts, or drizzled white chocolate for variety. Use cinnamon, chili powder, or espresso powder for depth.
