Cold Comfort Tea Bombs

Cold Comfort Tea Bombs

  • Author: Leslie Bennett
  • Total Time: 2 hours
  • Yield: 12–16 tea bombs

Description

Cold comfort tea bombs are small, honey-based treats infused with calming herbs and spices like chamomile, turmeric, and ginger. Perfect for boosting immunity, soothing sore throats, or as a homemade remedy. Easily made vegan, sugar-free, or nut-free.

Ingredients

For the Tea Bombs:

– ½ cup honey (substitute maple syrup or agave nectar for vegan diets)

– 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice

– ½ tsp ground ginger (or 1 tsp fresh grated ginger)

– ¼ tsp ground turmeric

– ¼ tsp ground cinnamon

– 1 tbsp dried chamomile or dried peppermint tea (or your favorite calming herbal blend)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, warm ½ cup honey over low heat until just liquid, then remove from heat.
  2. Stir in 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice, ½ tsp ground ginger (or fresh grated ginger), ¼ tsp ground turmeric, and ¼ tsp ground cinnamon until fully combined.
  3. Sprinkle a pinch of dried chamomile or peppermint tea into each cavity of a silicone mold or ice cube tray.
  4. Carefully pour the honey mixture over the herbs, ensuring even distribution.
  5. Let the tea bombs cool completely at room temperature until they solidify. For faster setting, refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
  6. Once hardened, pop the tea bombs out of the mold and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  7. To use, place a tea bomb in a mug, pour hot water over it, and stir until fully dissolved for a cozy, cold-soothing drink.

Notes

– Use high-quality honey: This ensures maximum flavor and consistency. Substitute plant-based sweeteners for vegan diets.

– Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. Freeze portions for longer storage; thaw in the fridge before using. Avoid microwaving if possible.

– Customizations: Swap chamomile or peppermint with lavender, rose petals, or hibiscus for variety. Add matcha powder, cacao nibs, or edible flowers for added complexity.
