Description

Whipped feta dip is a luxuriously creamy, tangy appetizer made with feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and heavy cream, crowned with crunchy pistachios, juicy pomegranate seeds, and a drizzle of honey. Perfect for parties, holidays, or easy entertaining. Naturally gluten-free and easily made vegan.

Ingredients

For the Dip:

– 8 oz (225g) crumbled feta cheese

– 4 oz (113g) cream cheese, softened

– ¼ cup (60g) plain Greek yogurt

– ¼ cup (60ml) heavy cream

– 1 tbsp honey

– 1 tsp fresh lemon juice

– ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper

– ¼ tsp salt (optional—taste first, as feta is salty)

For Topping & Garnish:

– ¼ cup unsalted pistachios, chopped

– ½ cup pomegranate arils (seeds)

– Fresh mint or parsley, for garnish

For Serving:

– Pita chips, crackers, or fresh vegetables

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, heavy cream, honey, lemon juice, pepper, and salt (if using).
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy, scraping down sides as needed (1–2 minutes).
  3. Transfer to a serving bowl.
  4. Gently fold in half the pistachios and half the pomegranate seeds.
  5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 24 hours) to let flavors meld.
  6. Before serving, top with remaining pistachios and pomegranate seeds.
  7. Garnish with fresh mint or parsley.
  8. Serve with pita chips, crackers, or crudités.

Notes

– Use high-quality block feta in brine for best flavor and creaminess (avoid pre-crumbled, which is drier).

– Vegan option: Substitute with plant-based feta, vegan cream cheese, coconut yogurt, and maple syrup instead of honey.

– Lighter version: Replace heavy cream with extra Greek yogurt or a splash of milk.

– Make ahead: The dip base keeps well for 24 hours add fresh toppings just before serving to maintain texture.

– Gluten-free: Naturally GF, just verify serving dippers are GF if needed.

– Softer dip? Add 1–2 tbsp more heavy cream while blending.
