For the Cube Steak:

- 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
For the Gravy:
- 1 cup beef broth (low sodium preferred)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
- 1 packet (1 oz) onion soup mix (Lipton Onion Soup Mix works great!)
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 medium onion, sliced
Optional Additions:
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms
Instructions
- Season the Cube Steak:
- Sprinkle salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides of the cube steaks.
- Layer Ingredients in the Crock Pot:
- Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Add the cube steaks, slightly overlapping if needed.
- Sprinkle the onion soup mix over the steaks.
- Prepare the Gravy Mixture:
- In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Pour this mixture over the cube steaks.
- Slow Cook:
- Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours until the meat is fork-tender.
- Thicken the Gravy (Optional):
- If a thicker gravy is desired, mix 1 tablespoon cornstarch with 2 tablespoons cold water and stir it into the crock pot.
- Let it cook for an additional 20-30 minutes until thickened.
