Peach Pie Cruffins Recipe

  • Author: Leslie Bennett

Description

Peach pie cruffins are a hybrid between croissants and muffins, filled with sweet peach preserves and spiced with cinnamon. Perfect for breakfast, brunches, or as a homemade dessert. Easily made gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free.

Ingredients

For the Cruffins:

– 3 cans (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent dough (substitute gluten-free or puff pastry if needed)

– 1 cup peach preserves (organic if possible, substitute sugar-free jam for low-sugar diets)

– 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Glaze:

– ½ cup powdered sugar

– 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream (substitute plant-based cream for vegan diets)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, mix peach preserves and cinnamon until well combined.
  3. Roll out the crescent dough and press the seams together to form rectangles.
  4. Spread the peach mixture evenly over each dough rectangle. Roll the dough into logs, slice them in half, and twist each piece into a spiral.
  5. Place the twists into the prepared muffin tin. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Whisk powdered sugar and heavy cream to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle over the warm cruffins.

Notes

– Use high-quality peach preserves: This ensures maximum flavor. Substitute plant-based ingredients for vegan diets.

– Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days. Freeze portions for longer storage; thaw at room temperature before serving. Avoid microwaving if possible.

– Customizations: Swap peach preserves with blueberry, raspberry, or apple pie filling for variety. Add chopped nuts, sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips for added complexity.
