Description
Peach pie cruffins are a hybrid between croissants and muffins, filled with sweet peach preserves and spiced with cinnamon. Perfect for breakfast, brunches, or as a homemade dessert. Easily made gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free.
Ingredients
For the Cruffins:
– 3 cans (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent dough (substitute gluten-free or puff pastry if needed)
– 1 cup peach preserves (organic if possible, substitute sugar-free jam for low-sugar diets)
– 1 tsp ground cinnamon
For the Glaze:
– ½ cup powdered sugar
– 3 tbsp heavy whipping cream (substitute plant-based cream for vegan diets)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with liners.
- In a bowl, mix peach preserves and cinnamon until well combined.
- Roll out the crescent dough and press the seams together to form rectangles.
- Spread the peach mixture evenly over each dough rectangle. Roll the dough into logs, slice them in half, and twist each piece into a spiral.
- Place the twists into the prepared muffin tin. Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Whisk powdered sugar and heavy cream to make a smooth glaze. Drizzle over the warm cruffins.
Notes
– Use high-quality peach preserves: This ensures maximum flavor. Substitute plant-based ingredients for vegan diets.
– Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the fridge for up to 5 days. Freeze portions for longer storage; thaw at room temperature before serving. Avoid microwaving if possible.
– Customizations: Swap peach preserves with blueberry, raspberry, or apple pie filling for variety. Add chopped nuts, sprinkles, or mini chocolate chips for added complexity.
