Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In another bowl, whisk pumpkin purée, eggs, melted butter, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually fold wet ingredients into the dry mixture until just combined (do not overmix).
- Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
- Bake 10–12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool slightly before glazing, dusting with sugar, or serving.
Notes
- Use canned pumpkin purée, not pumpkin pie filling.
- Avoid overmixing the batter for light, fluffy donuts.
- Let donuts cool before glazing so it sets properly.
- For a vegan version, use flax eggs, plant-based milk, and vegan butter.
