Description
A quick and tasty garlic noodle recipe inspired by Vietnamese-American cuisine, featuring bold flavors from garlic, soy sauce, and sesame oil, wrapped around tender noodles.
Ingredients
- Noodles (egg noodles, rice noodles, or whole-wheat noodles)
- Garlic (several cloves, minced or sliced)
- Butter (or sesame oil for a richer flavor)
- Soy sauce
- Rice vinegar
- Sesame oil
- Chili oil (optional)
- Salt and black pepper (to taste)
- Scallions or sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Noodles: Boil salted water in a large pot. Cook noodles of your choice until al dente, then drain.
- Create Garlic Sauce: Heat butter (or sesame oil) in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant but not burnt. Optionally, add soy sauce or a little water to enhance flavor.
- Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add noodles to the pan with garlic sauce and toss to coat. Add more noodle water if the sauce seems too dry. Season with salt, sesame oil, and pepper.
- Serve: Top with scallions or sesame seeds, and enjoy! Serve hot as a main dish or side.
Notes
- Garlic noodles can be customized with proteins (chicken, shrimp, tofu), veggies (broccoli, mushrooms), or gluten-free noodles.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in a pan with a little water or broth.
