Description

Honey chicken nuggets are crispy, juicy, and coated in a sweet-and-savory glaze that’s loved by both kids and adults. Perfect for weeknight dinners, parties, or casual snacks, these nuggets are easy to make and full of flavor. The crispy coating and sticky honey garlic sauce create a mouthwatering combination that’s sure to be a hit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (use panko for extra crisp)
  • Olive oil, for frying

Honey Glaze:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Optional Add-ins:

  • Sesame seeds
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Fresh parsley

Substitutions:

  • Gluten-free breadcrumbs for GF version
  • Plant-based chicken for vegetarian option
  • Tamari or coconut aminos instead of soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized nuggets and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up breading station with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  3. Coat each piece in flour, dip in egg, then coat in breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and fully cooked.
  5. In a small saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  6. Toss the fried nuggets in the glaze until evenly coated.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds or fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double-coat the chicken: flour → egg → breadcrumbs → egg → breadcrumbs.
  • Use a wire rack instead of paper towels after frying to maintain crunch.
  • To reduce sweetness, use less honey or add a splash of vinegar.
  • Can be baked at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Reheat in the oven to restore crispiness; avoid microwaving if possible.
