  • 1.5 pounds fresh, high-quality salmon (4 filets), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/4 cup (85 g) hot honey (homemade or store-bought)
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F or the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season the salmon cubes with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes.
  3. For the glaze, melt butter in a saucepan and whisk in hot honey until warm and well-mixed.
  4. Air fry for 9-10 minutes, shaking halfway for even cooking. Alternatively, bake in the oven for 16 minutes, flipping halfway.
  5. Once cooked, coat the salmon with the hot honey glaze and garnish with chopped parsley.
  6. Serve as an appetizer with toothpicks and extra hot honey on the side for dipping. Pair with roasted veggies, rice, or salad.

Notes

  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake the bites in the oven.
  • Adjust the amount of hot honey to control the spice level.
