Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a donut pan and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs, buttermilk, melted butter, lemon juice, and lemon zest until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients. Mix until just combined do not overmix.
  5. Spoon or pipe the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about ¾ full.
  6. Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  8. To make the glaze, whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  9. Drizzle the glaze over cooled donuts. Let it set before serving.
