Ingredients
For the Truffle Center:
– 1 (14.3 oz / 405g) package Mint Creme Oreos
– 8 oz (226g) full-fat brick cream cheese, softened

– 12 oz (340g) high-quality semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
– ½ tsp peppermint extract (optional)
Optional Toppings:
– Crushed Oreos
– White chocolate drizzle
– Crushed candy canes
– Cocoa powder or powdered sugar
– Festive sprinkles
Instructions
- Place entire package of Mint Oreos in a food processor. Pulse until fine crumbs form.
- In a large bowl, combine Oreo crumbs and softened cream cheese.
- Mix with a hand mixer or sturdy spatula until a thick, fudgy dough forms.
- (Optional) Stir in peppermint extract for extra minty flavor.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop dough by tablespoon and roll into smooth 1-inch balls.
- Chill balls in the refrigerator for 30 minutes (or freezer for 15 minutes) until firm.
- Melt chocolate in a microwave (30-second bursts, stirring between) or over a double boiler until smooth.
- Dip each chilled truffle into melted chocolate, coating fully.
- Tap gently to remove excess and place back on parchment paper.
- Immediately add toppings before chocolate sets.
- Let truffles set at room temperature or chill 10–15 minutes to firm.
- (Optional) Drizzle with melted white chocolate, or top with sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Notes
– Use block cream cheese only, whipped cream cheese is too soft and watery.
– Chill thoroughly before dipping this prevents melting and ensures smooth coating.
– Gluten-free: Use certified gluten-free mint sandwich cookies (e.g., Kinnikinnick or Glutino).
– Vegan option: Use plant-based cream cheese and dairy-free chocolate.
– Chocolate too thick? Add ½ tsp coconut oil to thin it slightly.
– Storage: Keep refrigerated for up to 2 weeks or freeze for 3 months.
