Description

Juicy, tangy-sweet BBQ Chicken Wings baked to crispy perfection in the oven. Coated in a flavorful homemade sauce, these wings are a crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for game nights, parties, or casual dinners. Easy to customize, gluten-free friendly, and packed with bold flavor, they’re sure to become a go-to favorite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 lbs (1.3 kg) chicken wings, separated at joints, tips discarded
  • 1 cup (250 g) ketchup
  • ½ cup (100 g) brown sugar, lightly packed
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha chili sauce
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce
  • ½ tsp ground cumin

Optional Add-ins:

  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • Honey

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a large-rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray the rack with nonstick spray.
  2. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, Sriracha, soy sauce, and cumin. Cook for 2–3 minutes, stirring until sugar dissolves. Adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Divide sauce in half. Reserve one portion for serving.
  4. Toss chicken wings with the remaining sauce and arrange on prepared rack.
  5. Bake for 35–45 minutes, turning once, until cooked through and golden. Internal temp should reach 165°F (74°C).
  6. Serve with reserved sauce or toss cooked wings in it before serving.

Notes

  • No wire rack? Place wings directly on a parchment-lined baking sheet and rotate 2–3 times during baking.
  • For spicier wings, increase Sriracha or add red pepper flakes.
  • Swap soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free version.
  • For crispier wings, broil for 2–3 minutes at the end.
  • Vegan variation: use cauliflower florets or tofu chunks.
