Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and ½ cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and salt until fully combined.
- Gradually mix in flour and cornstarch until a soft dough forms. Chill dough for 15–20 minutes.
- Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, until set but not browned.
- While still warm, roll cookies in powdered sugar. Let cool slightly, then roll again for a snowy finish.
- Garnish with crushed candy canes if desired.
