- 1 cup warm water (110°F/43°C)
- 1 packet (2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions
- In a bowl, dissolve sugar in warm water and sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit 5–10 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix flour and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to dry ingredients; stir to form a shaggy dough.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Transfer dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours until doubled.
- Punch down dough, divide into portions, and shape into balls.
- Roll out dough on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Top and bake in a preheated 500°F (260°C) oven using a pizza stone or baking sheet.
Notes
- For gluten-free: Use certified gluten-free flour and xanthan gum.
- For whole wheat: Replace half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour.
