- 1 lb jumbo or colossal shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup dry white wine or vermouth
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for heat
Instructions
- Prepare Shrimp: Thaw shrimp if frozen, pat dry, and season with salt and pepper.
- Make Sauce: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook Shrimp: Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and curled. Avoid overcooking.
- Add Lemon Juice and Parsley: Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp and sprinkle with parsley. Toss to coat and simmer for 1 minute.
- Serve: Plate the shrimp scampi over cooked pasta or with crusty bread.
Notes
- Serve with linguine, angel hair, or spaghetti for the best pairing.
- Reserve some pasta water to mix with the sauce if needed.
- Adjust seasoning and add red pepper flakes for a spicy kick.
