Description

Smashburger quesadillas are a creative twist combining the crispy, cheesy goodness of quesadillas with the savory, juicy flavors of smashburgers. Perfect for family dinners, game nights, or as a homemade treat. Easily made gluten-free, low-carb, or vegan.

Ingredients

For the Smashburger Quesadillas:

– 1 lb ground beef

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 1 tsp garlic powder (or to taste)

– 4 large flour tortillas (substitute gluten-free or low-carb tortillas if needed)

– 1 cup shredded cheddar or American cheese (substitute Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or mozzarella if preferred)

For Optional Toppings:

– Pickles, diced

– Diced onions

– Burger sauce (homemade or store-bought)

– Sour cream, guacamole, or salsa for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. Press a small handful of ground beef directly onto one half of each tortilla. Season generously with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the tortilla beef-side down on the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned and crispy.
  4. Flip the tortilla, sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the beef side, fold the tortilla in half, and grill both sides until crispy and melty.
  5. Remove from heat, slice into wedges, and serve with optional toppings like pickles, diced onions, or burger sauce.

Notes

– Use fresh, high-quality ground beef: Fresh beef ensures maximum flavor and texture. Substitute plant-based ground meat for vegan options.

– Prevent overcrowding: Cook quesadillas in batches if needed to ensure even cooking and crispiness.

– Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet over medium heat to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving to prevent sogginess.

– Customizations: Add jalapeños, sautéed mushrooms, or caramelized onions for variety. Sprinkle toasted breadcrumbs or drizzle hot sauce for extra flair.
