Description

S’mores cookie bars are a gooey, chocolatey twist on the classic campfire treat featuring a buttery cookie base, melted chocolate, and toasted marshmallows perfect for parties, potlucks, or anytime indulgence.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup softened butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or melted dark chocolate)
  • Mini marshmallows (enough to cover surface)
  • Optional: crushed graham crackers, melted chocolate drizzle, sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Mix until smooth and press dough evenly into a lined 8×8 or 9×13 inch baking pan.
  4. Bake for 15–20 minutes until the cookie base is golden.
  5. Immediately sprinkle chocolate chips over the warm base or spread melted chocolate evenly.
  6. Top with a layer of mini marshmallows.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely, until marshmallows are golden and gooey.
  8. Cool completely before slicing into squares.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature.
  • Freeze baked or unbaked bars for up to 3 months.
  • Substitute gluten-free flour and vegan marshmallows if needed.
  • Watch marshmallows carefully under the broiler to prevent burning.
