Description

White cheddar and spinach chicken burgers combine lean ground chicken, nutrient-rich spinach, and creamy white cheddar cheese for a flavorful, healthy twist on traditional burgers. They’re easy to prepare, packed with protein, and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken (preferably organic or free-range)
  • 2 cups fresh baby spinach, lightly chopped
  • 1 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, Dijon mustard, and breadcrumbs. Mix gently until evenly distributed.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape into ¾-inch thick patties. Create a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Cook the Burgers:
    • Grill: Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
    • Stovetop: Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes per side until fully cooked.
  4. Serve & Enjoy: Serve hot with your favorite toppings and sides like sweet potato fries, roasted Brussels sprouts, or a crisp salad.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, add 1 tbsp plain Greek yogurt to the mixture.
  • Swap white cheddar for feta and add sun-dried tomatoes for a Mediterranean twist.
  • Use lettuce wraps instead of buns for a low-carb option.
