Description

Turkey and stuffing meatballs are savory, juicy meatballs made by combining ground turkey, stuffing mix, broth, vegetables, and seasonings. Inspired by classic holiday flavors, they deliver comforting, festive taste with minimal effort and suit various dietary needs, including gluten-free or lower-fat adaptations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ½ cup yellow onion, minced
  • 1 rib celery, finely diced
  • 4 tablespoons butter, divided
  • ¾ cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 (6-oz) box Stovetop turkey stuffing mix
  • 1 lb ground turkey (85% lean)
  • ½ lb ground sausage
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 large egg, whisked

Optional sides:

  • Mashed potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Green beans
  • Cranberry sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (204°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
  2. Melt half the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add minced onion and celery; soften 5–6 minutes.
  3. Add remaining butter, chicken broth, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.
  4. Stir in stuffing mix until combined. Remove from heat and transfer to a large bowl. Let cool 2–3 minutes.
  5. Season ground turkey with salt and pepper. Add turkey, ground sausage, and whisked egg to the bowl. Mix gently until combined.
  6. Roll mixture into 1¾-inch meatballs and place on prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake 15 minutes.
  8. Broil at 450°F (232°C) for 2 minutes to lightly brown.
  9. Serve hot with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, or cranberry sauce.

Notes

  • Finely dice celery and mince onions for smooth, evenly shaped meatballs.
  • Avoid overmixing to prevent dense meatballs.
  • Broil briefly for a golden finish without drying.
