Description

Vanilla cinnamon milk tea is a creamy, spiced beverage featuring whole milk, black tea, cinnamon sticks, vanilla extract, and sweeteners. Perfect for cozy mornings, afternoon breaks, or as a homemade indulgence. Easily made dairy-free, low-sugar, or vegan.

Ingredients

For the Tea:

– 2 cups whole milk (substitute oat milk, almond milk, or coconut milk for dairy-free option)

– 2 black tea bags (substitute green tea, chai tea, or rooibos tea if preferred)

– 2 cinnamon sticks (or ½ tsp ground cinnamon if substituting)

– 1 tsp vanilla extract

– 2 tbsp honey or sugar (substitute maple syrup for vegan option)

For Garnish:

– Ground cinnamon (to dust on top)

– Optional: whipped cream, caramel drizzle, or toasted coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine whole milk and cinnamon sticks. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the milk is hot but not boiling (about 5 minutes). Small bubbles around the edges indicate readiness.
  2. Remove the saucepan from heat and add the tea bags. Let steep for 3–4 minutes, depending on desired strength.
  3. Remove and discard the tea bags and cinnamon sticks. Stir in vanilla extract and your choice of honey or sugar. Mix well until completely dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness as needed.
  4. For extra creaminess, use a milk frother or whisk vigorously for 30 seconds to create foam. Alternatively, blend the hot tea in a blender for 10 seconds (be cautious with hot liquid).
  5. Pour into mugs, dust generously with ground cinnamon, and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

– Use fresh cinnamon sticks: They offer superior aroma and flavor compared to pre-ground alternatives. Substitute with ground cinnamon if needed, but add it gradually to avoid overpowering the drink.

– Avoid boiling the milk: Prevent scorching or curdling by heating gently.

– Storage: Store leftover tea in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Freeze portions for longer storage; thaw overnight in the fridge and reheat gently. Avoid adding toppings like foam until just before serving.

– Customizations: Add nutmeg, cardamom, or ginger for depth. Swap milk types for variety or stir in cocoa powder for added complexity.
