Description

Strawberry sweet rolls are a soft, fluffy sweet roll infused with strawberry flavor, filled with a tangysweet strawberrylemon sugar mixture, and topped with a creamy strawberry glaze. Easily paired with coffee, tea, or milk for added indulgence.


Ingredients

For the Dough:
¼ cup warm water
1 package active dry yeast
¾ cup strawberry milk (substitute regular milk mixed with strawberry extract)
1 large egg
¼ cup melted butter
1 box Betty Crocker™ Delights Super Moist™ Strawberry Cake Mix
cups allpurpose flour (substitute glutenfree flour for dietary needs)

For the Filling:
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ cup crushed freezedried strawberries
1 tbsp lemon zest
¼ cup melted butter

For the Icing:
2 cups powdered sugar
¼ cup strawberry milk
Crushed freezedried strawberries (for garnish)


Instructions

1. In a small bowl, stir warm water and yeast until dissolved.
2. In a large bowl, combine strawberry milk, egg, melted butter, cake mix, flour, and yeast mixture. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
3. Knead on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1–2 hours.
4. Mix granulated sugar, crushed freezedried strawberries, and lemon zest. Grease a 13x9inch pan.
5. Roll the dough into a 16x12inch rectangle. Spread melted butter over the dough, leaving a 1inch border. Sprinkle the strawberrylemon sugar evenly.
6. Roll into a tight spiral log, pinch the seam, and cut into 12 rolls. Place in the greased pan, spacing evenly. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
7. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake uncovered for 20–22 minutes until golden brown. Cool slightly while preparing the icing.
8. Whisk powdered sugar and strawberry milk until smooth. Spoon over warm rolls and spread evenly. Garnish with crushed freezedried strawberries.

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days, in the fridge for up to 5 days, or freeze portions in freezersafe containers for up to 1 month. Thaw at room temperature before serving.
